The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) runs the Employees’ Compensation Scheme under the Employees’ Compensation Act 2010. The scheme compensates employees for injuries, diseases and deaths arising out of or in the course of their employment.
Employers contribute 1% of total monthly payroll. The contribution is an employer cost and must not be deducted from employees’ pay. Employers also submit payroll statements to the NSITF each year.
See NSITF contribution for the rate, deadlines and how to report a work injury.
