A payslip is the statement an employer gives an employee for each pay period showing earnings, deductions and net pay. It lets the employee check that they were paid correctly.
A Nigerian payslip should show the pay period, each earning (basic, housing, transport and other allowances), gross pay, each deduction (PAYE, pension, NHF and any agreed deduction) and net pay, and year-to-date totals help at tax time. The Labour Act requires written particulars of how wages are calculated, and a clear monthly payslip is the simplest way to show it.
